FILMMAKER'S INTRO.

As a child born and raised in Madrid, movies started to captivate me at a very young age. I rememeber I was around seven years old when I first watched movies like "Witness for the Prosecution" and "Stagecoach"  at my great aunt Trini's house, and I was completely blown away by them. The characters portrayed by Marlene Dietrich, Tyrone Power, John Wayne, Thomas Mitchell and company were as real as gravity for me.

My passion for films and acting kept growing at the same time through out the years. When I reached high school I joined the threatre group and started to participate in some productions with great enthusiasm. In English, in Spanish... Didn't matter. I loved it. I also started to play around with a portable Toshiba movie camera that my parents gave me for Christmas when I was 12 years old. During my teens, and thanks to my parents VHS collection, I discovered the world of American films in all it´s splendor. From color to black and white, and even some slapstick gems.

During lockdown I wrote my first feature film script, "The guitar", a family drama that revolves around an old spanish alienated guitar luthier who takes a new disciple under his wing, a young hustler, in a final shot at redemption. Eager to know more about the film industry, I embarked in a Two year Film Program at Transforming Arts Institute, located also in Madrid, where I learned the basics of every trade and expanded my knowledge about scriptwriting and directing, while acting in some of the institute's shortfilms.

My final project as a film student, "The abominable nine o´clock man", a documentary short film about my grandparents life long relationship told from my granma´s perspective months after my granpa´s passing, earned three selections throughout 2024, two official ones at the Zabrinski International Film Festival from Colombia and the REC Ribadedeva en Corto from Cantabria (Spain), and an Out of competition one at  the Jaén Provincial Council Short Film Festival Against Gender Violence, a Goya qualifying festival.

It was after I graduated from film school when I decided it was time for me to go to the States to keep pursuing my acting career.  After finishing the one year acting conservatory in New York and before I flew back home, I wrote, produced, directed, photographed and co-starred in "Angels don´t smoke", my first short film shot entirely in English at a Brooklyn train station platform.  The film started distribution at the end of 2025 and has garned it´s first official selection at the North Film Festival from New York. I also recently founded Tango On Films, a film production company focused on documentaries and fiction films. Now I´m back in Madrid, writting a sci-fi play in English and shooting "Santiago", a documentary short film about a 97 year old Spanish priest with a beautiful life story to share with the world.
